London River – Watch Trailer
In the 7/7 bombings 52 civilians were killed and around 700 injured. Imagine your a Mother watching the news and your daughter lives in London who you cannot get hold of.
Brenda Blethyn plays a Mother who cannot get hold of her daughter, who lives in London. After a couple of days of no answer, Elizabeth (Brenda Blethyn) travels from her home in Guernsey to London in search of her daughter.
When she gets to London she soon realises she didn’t know her daughter very well. She soon crosses paths with Mr Ousmane (Sotigui Kouyate) who is looking for his son Ali.
This film is moving and touching and makes you think. It shows that even though people have different faiths it shouldn’t be a barrier to friendship. The film deals with the 7/7 bombings with dignity, and shows how extremists are the minority and you shouldn’t paint every Muslim with the same brush.
Brenda Blethyn delivers a stunning performance, you feel every emotion with her. She even learnt French for the role!
A great film which touches your heart and opens your mind.
This is a FAB rated movie.
